Precautions for starting Cummins diesel generator set

1. Start the diesel generator set in manual mode

After powering on 72XX series controllers, they are generally in stop/reset mode (such as in other modes, according to the following method), that is, the generator stop/reset button indicator on the control panel is on. When the generator is in stop mode, pressing the start button will have no effect. First, press the manual mode key, and the LED indicator will be on after switching to manual mode. After the controller is in manual mode, press the start button again to successfully start the generator set manually. The generator set will first run at idle speed for more than ten seconds and then switch to high speed. Note (If the mains is normal, the generator set cannot be automatically switched over, but you can switch between the generator set closing key and the mains closing key on the module, if you need to stop, press the stop key).

2. Start diesel generator set in automatic mode

If the 7220 controller is to be in automatic mode, press the "automatic mode" button and the generator set will be in automatic standby state. At this time, if there is an external signal (passive remote self-starting signal) input is effective, or when there is a mains fault (including power failure, phase loss, phase break, low frequency, high frequency, ultra-high voltage, low voltage), the generator set will automatically start and turn on. From speed operation to high speed operation, ATS switch automatically after the warm machine, the generator set to load power, when the mains return to normal, delay after confirmation or remote self-start signal input invalid, ATS automatically switch mains power to load power, the generator set cooling a few minutes after the automatic stop, in the automatic standby state. (Generally, the line number of self-starting signal is defined as line 60#. Specifically, you can check the line diagram in the control panel or press the Stop/Reset button if you find abnormal operation of the generator set on the terminal block.

3. Test mode (Only for 7220 controller)

Press the test button with the 7220 controller to simulate the mains failure of the generator set. The generator set will supply power to the load after starting up. If it needs to stop, press the stop button.

4. View the parameters measured by the controller

The 7220 module has seven menus for parameter measurement and viewing. Each menu function is divided into several small items to display various parameters of the generator set. You can select various menus by using the left and right menu navigation keys
