Principle of diesel generator set: Diesel generator is composed of diesel engine, cooling water tank, generator, chassis, control box, fuel tank four parts. The diesel generator set is fueled by diesel and starts with diesel power, so that the diesel engine reaches a certain speed (1500 RPM 50HZ is the most used in China. The diesel engine will power the generator through the link disk or pulley to make the generator rotate (that is, the generator and the crankshaft of the diesel engine are installed coaxial), and the rotation of the diesel engine can drive the rotor of the generator. The generator uses the principle of 'electromagnetic induction', the generator will output the induced electromotive force, through the closed load loop can produce current.

1. Run-in of diesel engines

A new or overhauled diesel engine must be run in for 60 hours before it can be used at full load. In order to improve the working condition of the diesel engine protection moving parts, improve the reliability and service life of the diesel engine transport diesel generator set. Run-in should be based on the diesel engine use and towing mode, to consider the specific run-in scheme. In principle, the speed and load of the diesel engine should be gradually improved with the increase of the run-in time. During the whole run-in period, the load should be 50%-80% of the 12h calibrated power, and the speed should not be greater than 80% of the calibrated speed. But at the beginning of the run-in phase of empty operation or too small load under the condition of operation time should not be too long.

Whenever the replacement of cylinder liner, piston, piston ring, connecting rod bearing and crank also according to the above running-in conditions appropriate for short-term running-in.

2. Normal use of diesel oil

After the diesel generator set is put into normal use, the indicating value of all instruments and the dynamic operation of the whole machine should be observed frequently. It is necessary to check the liquid level of the cooling system and all parts of the lubricating oil regularly. If it is found that there is no compliance with the requirements or loss and leakage, it should be supplemented or the cause of inspection should be eliminated.

In the process of operation, especially when the load is suddenly reduced, attention should be paid to prevent the speed of the diesel engine from suddenly rising due to the failure of the governor (commonly known as the flying car) beyond the specified value. When such a situation occurs, emergency measures should be taken quickly, and then find out the reason.

3. Diesel engine power matching with working machinery

When the user chooses the diesel engine, it should not only consider the size of the power required by the working machinery, but also consider the load rate of the working machinery, such as intermittent use or continuous use. At the same time, we should consider the running economy of the working machinery, that is, the working characteristics of the load and the characteristics of the diesel engine must be reasonably distributed. Therefore, the correct calibration of diesel engine power and the reasonable matching of diesel engine and working machinery characteristics are the premise to ensure the reliable, long life and economic operation of diesel engine, otherwise it may cause the overload operation of diesel engine and produce unnecessary faults. Or the load power is too small, the diesel engine power can not be fully used, which is not economic and produce channeling oil and other ills.

4. The use of diesel engines in plateau areas

Diesel engines used in plateau areas are different from those in plain areas, which brings some changes in the performance and use of diesel engines. The following points are for the reference of users using diesel engines in plateau areas.

1) Due to the low air pressure, thin air and small oxygen content in the plateau area, especially for the diesel engine with natural aspiration, combustion conditions are worsened due to insufficient intake, so that the diesel engine can not issue the original calibrated power. Even if the basic structure of the diesel engine is the same, but each type of diesel engine calibrated power is different, so their ability at the plateau is not the same. For example, 6135Q-1 diesel engine, calibrated power is 161.8kW /2200r/min, due to the large calibrated power, performance margin is small, when used in the plateau every 1000m, the power is reduced about 12%, so in the plateau long-term use should be according to the local height of the sea, appropriate to reduce the amount of oil supply. And 6135K-11 diesel engine, although the combustion process is the same, but because the calibrated power is only 117.7kW/2200r/min, so the performance has enough margin, so the diesel engine itself has a certain plateau working capacity.

Considering the tendency of ignition delay at high altitude, in order to improve the running economy of diesel engine, it is generally recommended that the fuel supply advance Angle of naturally aspirated diesel engine should be properly advanced.

As the sea dial increases, the power decreases, the exhaust temperature rises, so the user should also consider the high altitude working capacity of the diesel engine when choosing the diesel engine, strictly avoid overload operation.

According to the experimental results in recent years, the exhaust gas turbocharging method can be used as the power compensation for the diesel engine used in the plateau area. Exhaust gas turbocharging can not only make up for the lack of power at high altitude, but also improve smoke color, restore power performance and reduce fuel consumption.

2) With the rise of the sea, the ambient temperature is also lower than that of the plain area. Generally, every 1000m rise, the ambient temperature decreases about 0.6℃, plus because the plateau air is thin, so the starting performance of the diesel engine is worse than that of the plain area. Users should take auxiliary starting measures corresponding to low temperature starting when using.

3) Due to the rise of the sea dip, the boiling point of water is reduced, and the wind pressure and quality of cooling air are reduced, as well as the increase of heat per kilowatt per unit time, so the heat dissipation condition of the cooling system is worse than that of the plain. Generally, it is not suitable to use open cooling cycle in high sea level area, and pressurized closed cooling system can be used to improve the boiling point of coolant at high altitude.
